Kate Butler is an artist, ceramicist, educator and writer. Favoring mediums that privilege the impression and a connection to nature, her art practice encompasses plein-air drawing, ceramic sculpture, design and occasionally film.
Kate was raised in North Carolina and studied at The Marchutz School in Aix-en-Provence, France, before earning her MFA in Fine Arts and MS in Art History from the Pratt Institute. She teaches at Clayhouse Brooklyn, Brooklyn Clay Industries and GooseGrease House for the Arts and makes her ceramic work out of the studio Wedge. She lives in NYC.
